The Olympics have got me hooked…I just can’t peel my eyes off the screen every evening! I admire all the athleticism but I cannot help but look at the fashion part of it as well, it’s my nature. Now I know Olympic athletes are at the top of their game in performance and physique, but all the spandex just hurts my eyes…except for men’s swimming….I can handle the man candy. So looking past the uniforms, although the Swarovski crystals on the Womens’ Gymnastics team was a nice touch, I see that several of the female athletes wear jewelry, mostly earrings. Since the Olympics is the end-all, be-all of sports competition I assume it comes with an encyclopedia-sized manual on the rules and regulations of the games. Furthermore, I assumed this would include NO JEWELRY. Apparently, I was wrong.
Alas, at least earrings seem to be allowed in a number of the events to give the athletes a hint of personal expression. Here are a few studs I would have worn, will wear, and would wear if ever I am in the Olympics (or just any day, really)! Also, this pair of earrings made their international television debut on USA gymnast, Aly Raisman.
