The Ultimate Makeup Organizer + my fav products

As you can see below I truly believe you can never have too many lip colors!  I used to be the girl with multiple makeup bags and always buying new makeup bags because they would loose their luster as soon as they started getting messy on the inside with makeup.  I also would forget what I had and not use products because I couldn’t see them or find them.  And then this beauty pictured below came into my life and changed everything!  This lovely and massive contraption pictured below is called a Glambox.  Glambox is the name of the company that makes this organizer along with other options and also jewelry organizers. It’s so easy to find what I need and keep everything clean!  I use mine for just makeup but you could use to organize anything and everything in your bathroom.  As you read on you will see some of my favorite makeup items that I actually have in this Glambox and you can shop them!  Enjoy!

  1. Dior Lip Glow color reviver-brings out natural color in your lips or will revive a lip color that is wearing out or fading in the middle.  I usually always have this on me!
  2. Stila Stay All Day lip color-these have a tendency to be dry but as long as you use chapstick or lip balm before it won’t dry out your lips.
  3. Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick-great colors and very moisturizing.
  4. Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge-I love this makeup brand, great lasting pigment and moisturizing.
  5. Nars lipstick-many great colors in this collection, one of my favorites is Schiap.
  6. Stila Stay All Day lip color-love this dark color, Chianti.
  7. Urban Decay Vice lipstick in Blackmail, by far my favorite dark lip color!
  8. Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil-don’t be fooled by the pencil, this glides on like a lipstick and is very moisturizing and comes in great colors, the one shown is Train Bleu.

  1. Bare Minerals Stroke of Light-undereye concealer, doesn’t get caked on or crease, very lightweight.
  2. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Makeup Stick-great for foundation if you don’t want to carry around a liquid.
  3. Bobbi Brown Bronze Shimmer Brick-I use as a bronzer and highlighter and sometimes also as blush.
  4. Make Up For Ever Camouflage Palette-this is can be used for many things, nasty underage circles, blemishes, contouring, it really is a miracle palette!
  5. Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder-a translucent powder to set makeup when you don’t want that caked on powder look or too much coverage from your powder
  6. Benefit Watt’s Up highlighter-this is very similar to the Nars Multiple which I also recommend!  Works great as a highlight for cheekbones, forehead, and nose.  Not greasy or too glittery.
  7. Lancome Renergie Lift Makeup-by far the most purchased and longest running product in my Glambox!  There are many things I love about this foundation: it has SPF of 20, is very moisturizing but not thick or greasy, lasts all day, has good coverage without being too heavy.  If you are every looking for a new foundation, try this one!!
  8. Lancome Dual Finish Versatile Powder compact-can be used wet or dry depending on the coverage you are looking for.  I use dry to set the above foundation.

  1. Stila Stay All Day waterproof liquid eyeliner-THE. BEST. EYELINER. EVER.
  2. Sephora Collection retractible eyebrow pencil-very easy to use, not too heavy.
  3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow-eyebrow color pot, used to fill in brows, use brush to apply.
  4. Make Up For Ever Diamond powder– you just need a dab of this in the corner of your eye to glam up your look, I use for special events or a night out.
  5. Stila Huge Extreme Lash mascara-I use this when I do not have eyelash extensions on and I love it!
  6. Urban Decay eyeshadow primer-this product will change your life, it keeps your eyeshadow from creasing and fading.
  7. Urban decay eyeshadow-my favorite color is half-baked, a shimmery bronze shade. It’s actually in the original Naked Palette and is the only one I completely used up!
  8. Urban Decay Naked2 Basics eyeshadow palette–
  9. Boots No.7 mascara-this is an inexpensive mascara, but I think it works just as well as any other.
  10. Maybelline Great Lash mascara-definitely a classic, I currently use this in black with my eyelash extensions since it is water based and washes off easily at the end of the day.
  11. Urban Decay Naked Basics eyeshadow palette–
  12. Make Up For Ever star powder and glitters-I will say these can get a little messy if you are not used to using loose eyeshadow powder, but they are the pigmented, shimmery, long wearing eyeshadows I have ever found.  You can also get the silver/white shades and use in corners of the eyes or a brow bone highlighter.  You can also use wet to create a stronger look/color.

Transitioning Skincare + Makeup to Fall/Winter

Lately I have been waking up to a dry nose and throat.  This means it is definitely time to change up the skincare routine for the drier months, well at least here in Chicago.

I would consider myself to be a beauty product junkie, so this is a well reviewed and curated list of skincare items.  I will also remind you I do not like to spend hours applying tons of products, so I consider these the bare necessities.

Transitioning Skincare to Fall/Winter

Clarisonic: Well worth the money for a deep clean and gentle exfoliator, which is key to keep flaky dry skin at bay

Moisturizer: I have tried many, many department store brands and drugstore brands and this one is by far my favorite for year round.  It is lightweight and has an SPF (yes you need an SPF in the Winter)

Under Eye Cream: A must have.  Every night. Do it.  This is a little pricier but can be found in your local drugstore and has the important ingredient, retinol.

Night Moisturizer: Theoretically you could use a ‘day’ moisturizer at night, but the reason I choose not to is usually due to the SPF factor.  Also night creams can be a little thicker and nutrient rich which you would not want during the daytime.

Humidifier: Probably the best thing you can buy for dry skin.  No joke.  Mine is on every night in the cold, dry months….miracle worker.

Eye Makeup Remover:  I believe this is the best one out there and if you are a lover of mascara and eye makeup, then you must have this.  No scrubbing or extra rubbing on the sensitive eye area needed.

Makeup Remover Wipes:  I keep these in my nightstand for the nights I’m just too tired to wash my face or forgot until I climbed into bed.  I once read that for every night you sleep in your makeup, you age your skin 30 days.  Plus, makeup on your pillow is not pretty…

Lip Care:  I stumbled upon this during one of my last trips when I forgot to pack my chapstick.  I now don’t leave home without it.  I especially use it all night at work since lipstick is a little much for my job.  It gives a great natural berry pink tint to lips and keeps them moisturized.

Lip Reviver Balm:  This is amazing.  I  love wearing bright lipsticks but many of them dry out my lips, especially now.  This is a clear balm that you can put on over lipstick and rub your lips together and it moisturizes your lipstick and lips.

Highlighter:  It’s a fact, your skin just looks a little more dull in the Winter.  Over my makeup, I use this on my forehead, down the center of my nose and right on the top of my cheeks below the outer corner of my eyes.  It gives a great glow without caking on a ton of bronzer.

Go Out with Gold

Now that Summer is wrapping up,  the favorable weather and the patios days are  numbered.  So what does that mean?  That means you should go out and enjoy and savor every last minute.  To do that, here is a simple way to brighten up your eyes and add some false eyelashes for fun (you know, get a little flirty, it’s not too late to find that Summer fling).  I do have one disclaimer, I have shared pictures of the process and I do not airbrush, my wrinkles and imperfections are there up close!  Be kind, I wanted to be realistic!
